The 30 second tour
I'm busy, you're busy. Maybe you saw my name
somewhere and you want to get a handle on who I am. I figured
that maybe having a quick bio would increase the likelihood of
you reading it before contacting me asking to explain what I do.
So this is it (and in case you were wondering, it's pronounced "Howie").
I'm a web developer at UCLA. My primary
work is creating graphics and coding interfaces for the myriad of projects
we deploy. I know html inside and out, know quite a bit of javascript,
cascading style sheets, and dynamic html. I run my own web and
email servers, and help keep my employer's NT servers happy. In
the last six months, I've been learning how to connect databases
to websites and that's making life much easier. My next goal is
learning xml to facilitate data sharing among sites.
I've been designing web sites since late 1995 and keeping up
with technology everyday since then. I love to learn and I honestly look forward to going to work each day. If you know the industry, you know the internet
presents a learning curve without end. In addition to my work
at UCLA, I have personal web projects and do some freelance work
on the side. If you'd like to know more about my background and
capabilities, please take a look at my resume. If you'd like to
see some of the things I've done, take the full tour. Thanks.
